National Fossil Day: October 13

October 13 has been named “National Fossil Day” as a time to reflect on the importance of fossils and to promote the study of paleontology at all grade levels. Fossils have many practical uses in studies of climate change, mineral resources, geologic hazards, dating rock units and much more.
