Shell Sets New Deep-Water Record in the Gulf of Mexico

Shell Oil Company has completed a well in the Gulf of Mexico that is producing oil from nearly two miles below the ocean surface. It sets a new world record for the deepest offshore well.

Hurricane Paula

Hurricane Paula is moving away from the Yucatan coast on a path that is expected to strike western Cuba tonight or early Thursday. It is currently a Category 2 storm, expected to slowly weaken this afternoon.

BP Well is Now Plugged
